Certificate of Excellence

The Irving Convention Center space is about to get a major makeover. In case you’ve never driven down Hwy 114 connecting Dallas to the increasingly busy city of Irving, you may have never seen the Irving Convention Center. But if you have driven down 114, the Irving Convention Center is hard to miss. Built in 2011, this state of the art facility lives up to a Texas reputation with over 275,000 gross square feet. If the size alone isn’t enough to impress you, the design should be. The architects who designed the structure, RMJM Hillier Architecture, designed the convention center without the usual convention center elements we’ve come to expect. They wanted to draw light into the space, so they designed the structure as two rotated boxes with as many windows as possible. The outside of the structure is copper to help with energy efficiency, and the building itself is LEED certified.

Featuring a 50,000 square foot column-free exhibit hall and enough space for 4,000 participants, the Irving Convention Center attracts many unique and varied events including Zest Fest, Comic Con Fan Days, DFW Golf Show and Women in Tech Summit. Plus there are dozens of great restaurants, bars and hotels near Irving Convention Center that serve as a respite after a long day at the Convention Center.

The Irving Convention Center space is about to get a lot busier, however. Slated for completion in 2017, The Music Factory by LiveNation will be Irving’s hottest new food and entertainment destination, doubling the size of Irving Convention Center with 250,000 square feet of new venues. The venues include a concert venue, 50,000 square foot plaza as well as retail, restaurants, entertainment spaces including a movie theater and comedy club. If you are looking forward to the new Music Factory like we are and want to learn more, check out more information on their website here.

An Irving Convention Center hotel is also slated for the space eventually, but in the meantime check out the newly renovated Wingate by Wyndham Dallas/Las Colinas for a super convenient and affordable option when visiting Irving, the convention center or the new Music Factory.  The Wingate by Wyndham Dallas/Las Colinas is located just a short 3 minute drive from the Irving Convention Center on the other side of 114.  Take our complimentary shuttle to/from DFW airport or to your event and enjoy complimentary hot breakfast (with Texas shaped waffles!), wifi, business center fitness center and pool.  The entire space was recently renovated and looks better than ever.
