Memorial Day is just around the corner on May 30, 2016 this year. Whether you are planning a trip to Dallas or planning a staycation within Dallas, see below for our recommendations for Memorial Day in and around the DFW metroplex.
You can’t get much more patriotic this Memorial Day than a symphonic concert honoring our veterans with your favorite patriotic classics. Did we mention the event is free to the public? Bring the whole family for this wholesome event held on Klyde Warren Park at 8:30pm on Sunday, May 29. You won’t have to worry about bedtime since the kids will be out of school on Monday.
Slightly less patriotic is the Dallas Margarita Meltdown happening downtown on Sunday, May 29. Forty bars and restaurants will battle to be crowned best Margarita in Dallas and lucky attendees will be able to sample and vote some of the best margaritas in the city. Food from local vendors as well as beer and wine will be provided for this 21+ event. Tickets start at $15 for designated drivers and $40 for regular Meltdown attendees.
Don’t miss the last day of the famous Scarborough Renaissance Faire. The Faire closes on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, so this is your last chance to check out the period clothing, food, drinks, artwork and activities. The event takes place in Waxahachie and tickets cost $25 for adults, $10 for kids 5-12 and free for children 4 and under.
